Compliance notes

This page is written for buyers, and it is deliberately blunt. Adult products carry regulatory weight that ordinary consumer goods do not, and most of the problems we see are avoidable.

This is general information, not legal advice. Rules change and differ by jurisdiction. Confirm requirements with a qualified adviser in your own market before you import or advertise.

The single most common mistake: treating these as toys

An adult doll is not a toy, and it must not be labelled, packaged or marketed as one.

Toy safety rules — the EU Toy Safety Directive, the US CPSIA, and equivalents elsewhere — exist to protect children. Applying them to an adult product creates a paper trail that says the product is intended for children. That is the opposite of what you want, and in some markets it is a serious misrepresentation.

What this means in practice:

Materials

We supply platinum-cure silicone and TPE, both phthalate-free.

ItemWhat we can provide
Material declarationPer production batch, on request
Phthalate statementYes
REACH SVHC statementYes, based on supplier declarations
Heavy metal statementYes, based on supplier declarations
Full lab test to your market's standardArranged on request, at cost, by a third-party lab

We do not claim certification for your market. Testing and certification for import is your decision and, usually, your cost. We will arrange it with a lab if you ask.

Age restriction

Products are for adults aged 18 or over. This is not a formality:

Age verification is becoming a legal requirement, not a courtesy. The UK Online Safety Act, the EU Digital Services Act and several US state laws now place obligations on sites that display adult content. If you sell online, check what your market requires before you launch, not after.

Import and labelling

MarketPoints worth checking before you order
EUGeneral Product Safety Regulation obligations; importer name and address on the product or packaging; REACH; national rules on adult retail
UKProduct safety and labelling; age assurance duties for online sale
USAState-level rules vary widely; customs scrutiny of adult goods; FTC labelling rules
AustraliaClassification requirements for adult goods
JapanLabelling and adult-goods rules differ from Western markets
Southeast AsiaRules vary sharply by country; some markets restrict import or sale entirely

If a market restricts the product, we will tell you rather than take the order quietly. We would rather lose a sale than have your container seized.

Payment processing

This catches out almost every new seller, so it belongs on this page.

ProviderPosition on adult products
StripeProhibited under the restricted businesses list
PayPalRestricted; account closure is a real risk
Shopify PaymentsRestricted; Shopify itself allows the category with conditions
High-risk merchant accountsThe normal route — specialist providers such as CCBill, SegPay, Verotel

Plan for a high-risk merchant account before you plan your launch. It affects pricing, chargeback terms and how much reserve the provider holds.

Marketplaces

Amazon prohibits the category outright. eBay restricts it heavily. Etsy prohibits it. Most sellers in this category run their own storefront, which is one reason the margin structure works.

Documents we provide with every shipment

We do not under-declare value. If a buyer asks us to, we decline — it exposes your shipment to seizure and our business to far more than the duty saved.
